Leadership Changes at Fareway ‍Stores

Fareway Stores,Inc. ⁣announced two leadership promotions, effective November 17, 2025, following the retirements of long-serving company officers. These changes reflect a transition in leadership as‌ experienced executives conclude their careers with the grocery chain.

New⁤ Appointments

Mark DeYoung has been named Vice President ⁤of Retail Construction and Maintenance. He previously served as ⁤Director of Retail Design, where he oversaw store advancement and ⁣design efforts.

Roger Wirtz has been promoted to Regional Vice President,⁣ expanding his responsibilities from his previous role as a Regional Supervisor.

Retirements

The promotions coincide with the retirements⁣ of two key figures at Fareway. Matt Sherwood, Vice ⁣President of Engineering, is retiring after 17 years of⁤ service. Jim Giardino, Regional Vice President, is concluding a 47-year career with the company.
