Fargo Davies High School’s baseball team secured a commanding 13-1 victory over Sioux Falls Lincoln on Friday, April 18, 2026, in a non-conference matchup that highlighted the Eagles’ offensive depth and pitching dominance.

Senior Gus Pankratz led the charge for Davies, contributing significantly to the team’s offensive output with multiple hits and RBIs, according to game reports from the Sioux Falls Argus Leader and InForum. The win marked Davies’ second victory of the day in a twinbill sweep of Lincoln, underscoring their strong start to the 2026 spring season.

The Eagles’ offense erupted early and often, plating runs in multiple innings to build an insurmountable lead. Davies collected 14 hits in the game, with Pankratz going 3-for-4 at the plate, including a double and two runs batted in. His performance was instrumental in setting the tone for a lineup that consistently put pressure on Lincoln’s pitching staff throughout the contest.

On the mound, Davies’ starting pitcher delivered a strong outing, holding Lincoln to just one run on scattered hits while striking out seven batters over five innings. The Eagles’ bullpen closed the game without allowing additional runs, completing a complete shutout effort after the early deficit was overcome.

Sioux Falls Lincoln struggled to generate consistent offense, managing only four hits and drawing just one walk against Davies’ pitching combination. The Patriots’ lone run came in the third inning on a solo home run, but they were unable to sustain any further threat as Davies’ defense remained sharp behind solid infield play and accurate throws.

The sweep improved Davies’ overall record to 8-2 on the young season, while Lincoln fell to 3-5 in early-season play. Both teams are members of different athletic conferences — Davies competes in the Eastern Dakota Conference, while Lincoln is part of the Sioux River Conference — making the matchup a non-conference test of early-season form.

Davies’ head coach praised the team’s execution following the game, emphasizing the importance of maintaining focus and intensity regardless of opponent. “We came in ready to play our game,” he said in a postgame interview with InForum. “The guys executed the game plan, stayed aggressive at the plate, and got the job done on the mound. That’s what we’re aiming for every time we step on the field.”

Pankratz, reflecting on his performance, credited his teammates for creating opportunities and stressed the value of preparation. “We’ve been working hard in practice, and it’s showing up in games,” he said. “When everyone’s doing their part, it makes things easier for everybody.”

The victory continues Davies’ strong start to the 2026 baseball season, building momentum as they prepare for upcoming conference play. The Eagles are scheduled to host West Fargo Horace in their next home series, a matchup that will test their consistency against another regional contender.
