Life rights advocates gathered in Çanakkale’s Bayramiç district to protest cengiz Holding’s Halilağa Copper Mine project.
Public anger is growing over the continuation of mining operations despite court rulings, with residents demanding the cancellation of the operating license. A petition for intervention was submitted to the Çanakkale 1st Administrative Court regarding the “operating license cancellation” lawsuit initially filed by women from the village of Hacıbekirli. Later, a collective petition with new statements and evidence was added to the “extensive criminal complaint” file being investigated by the Bayramiç Public Prosecutor’s Office.
