Decades-Long Search Concludes
The remains of Thomas Robb, a farmer who went missing from the Carron Valley near Denny in August 2012, have been identified after being discovered in woodland near Fintry on september 8, 2024. robb was 74 years old at the time of his disappearance and had been diagnosed wiht dementia.
Robb was last seen at Duncarron Fort, in the Carron Valley, while attending a music festival. His family described him as a physically fit man for his age who enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Extensive Search Efforts
Following his disappearance in 2012, a large-scale search operation was launched, involving Police Scotland officers, mountain rescue teams, search and rescue dogs, and police helicopters. Despite these extensive efforts, Mr. robb remained missing for over thirteen years.
Community Remembrance and support
in August 2016, a memorial trail race was organized in Robb’s name to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Scotland and Ochils Mountain Rescue, demonstrating the community’s enduring concern for his well-being. The event highlighted the impact of dementia and the vital work of organizations supporting those affected by the condition.
Police Scotland is currently providing support to Mr. Robb’s family during this difficult time, with specially trained officers offering assistance.
