Financial Difficulties Lead to receivership
The Nuvion Group, parent company of Fastway Couriers, Parcel Connect, and Nügo, has entered receivership, according to a statement released on Tuesday. This move raises concerns about the future of approximately 300 jobs directly within the company.
A spokesperson for the Nuvion Group cited “sustained inflation, rising operating costs and ongoing price pressures across the parcels market” as factors making the current business model unsustainable.
Receivers Appointed
Mark Degnan and Brendan O’Reilly of Interpath Advisory have been appointed as receivers to manage the situation. The Irish Times reports that the total number of jobs potentially affected, including indirect roles, could reach 1,000.
Service Disruptions Expected
The spokesperson indicated that delays and disruptions to services are anticipated while the receivers work to minimize impact on retailers. The company expressed gratitude to employees, franchisees, and customers for their understanding during this challenging period.
