South Los Angeles – A devastating three-vehicle collision in South Los Angeles early Wednesday morning claimed one life and left three others hospitalized, one wiht serious injuries. The crash occurred around 1:53 a.m. near the intersection of 53rd Street and Broadway, just west of the South Park neighborhood, sending shockwaves through the community.
Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) crews arrived at the scene to find a chaotic situation. “Firefighters had to extricate one victim from the wreckage,” said LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. Tragically,one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were transported to a local hospital in fair condition, while a third suffered serious injuries and was also hospitalized.
Five additional passengers involved in the crash declined medical attention.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
