A 46-year-old man has been arrested by the Guardia Civil after brutally assaulting a 12-year-old boy during a friendly football match in Lloseta, Mallorca.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 8, 2026, at the Camp Municipal Es Puig. A group of children were participating in an informal match when the man’s son, who is also 12 years old, was tackled and suffered an injury.
Witnesses report that the father ran onto the pitch visibly agitated following the tackle. He then attacked the boy who had tackled his son, punching the child several times in the head in front of other players and onlookers.
Medical Treatment and Injuries
The young victim was transported to the Inca Regional Hospital for treatment. Medical reports confirmed the boy sustained a severe concussion as a result of the assault.
While initial reports suggested the child had been knocked unconscious, subsequent clarifications indicated that the boy was actually dazed and shaken
by the blows. Sources indicate the victim is currently recovering well from his injuries.
Legal Proceedings
The Guardia Civil arrested the assailant following the attack. The man appeared before a judge on April 9, 2026, where he was released on bail.
The court also issued a restraining order to ensure the man remains away from the injured child. The young footballers who witnessed the event provided statements to authorities and were described as visibly shocked by the incident.
