The FBI reported that upwards of 15 suspected associates and members of a Houston gang were arrested during a multi-site raid directed by the FBI Houston Safe Streets Task Force.
The joint sweep targeted YNS, a self-described gang that maintains a prominent presence on social media through videos allegedly connected to criminal activity, a law enforcement source told KPRC 2 News. Authorities believe the suspects are tied to multiple violent crimes in Houston over the past year and possibly earlier, according to the source. Those taken into custody face both federal and state charges.
Federal Court Appearances and Specific Charges
On Thursday afternoon, five of the arrested individuals appeared before a federal magistrate judge to hear their rights and receive appointed defense attorneys. Court records show that four of the men—Darrell Sampson, Kristian Winters, Jacob Barrett, and Jocquez Frye—were charged together in an indictment accusing them of conspiring to commit robbery and distribute drugs.
In addition to the conspiracy counts, Frye faces a separate charge of illegal possession of a machine gun. In a related case confirmed by officials after the hearing, another man named Jordan Strambler was also charged with illegal possession of a machine gun.
Public records indicate that some of the identified defendants live and work in north Harris County areas. While all indictments related to the federal charges remained sealed as of Thursday afternoon, court proceedings revealed that prosecutors intend to seek detention for Sampson, Winters, Barrett, and Frye pending trial. Strambler was released on bond following his initial appearance, and a detention hearing for the remaining four defendants is scheduled for next week.
Multi-Agency Enforcement Operation
The complex takedown required coordination among several local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Participating alongside the FBI Houston Safe Streets Task Force were the Houston Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Authorities stated that additional individuals arrested during the operation are expected to make their initial appearances in federal court in the coming days as the investigation continues.
