The FBI in Miami has released surveillance photographs and new details regarding the April 6, 2026, shooting of Atlanta rapper Offset outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Federal investigators are seeking public assistance to identify individuals and vehicles captured in the images to advance the ongoing investigation.
According to the FBI, the incident occurred at approximately 7:24 p.m. On April 6, when a large group of individuals assaulted Offset. During the confrontation, one person produced a handgun and fired a single shot that struck the rapper. Following the shooting, the group attempted to steal Offset’s watch, though they were unsuccessful in doing so.
The suspects fled the scene in two Chevrolet SUVs. Investigators have identified one vehicle as a matte gray Chevrolet Tahoe and the other as a black Chevrolet Suburban. FBI reports indicate that the black Suburban traveled toward Hollywood, while the Tahoe fled southbound toward Miami.
Investigation and Arrests
Rapper Lil Tjay, born Tione Merritt, was previously arrested by the Seminole Police in connection with the events at the venue. He was charged with disorderly conduct and driving without a license. While some reports indicated he was accused of ordering his entourage to attack Offset, officials clarified that the specific charges for which he was arrested did not relate directly to the shooting.
Former FBI Special Agent Stuart Kaplan stated that the release of surveillance images is a calculated strategy to monitor if suspects begin using digital devices or cellular calls after being exposed. Kaplan noted that while some individuals may be detained and released, they could be rearrested as additional information is developed.
Offset, a member of the hip-hop group Migos, was hospitalized following the shooting. A spokesperson confirmed on April 11, 2026, that the rapper had been released from the hospital and was up and walking
