FBI Intensifies hunt for Vance Boelter in Minnesota Political Attacks
The FBI has released new images of a masked individual as part of their ongoing search for Vance Boelter, who is now
on the “Most Wanted” list. Boelter is the prime suspect in attacks targeting Minnesota Democratic politicians.
Former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband where fatally shot early Saturday at their home in
Brooklyn Park. Separately, Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were shot multiple times at their residence in Champlin.
Gov. Tim Walz described both shootings as “targeted political violence.”
In the hours following the shootings, law enforcement from across the region, including tactical units, deployed
throughout the area, conducting vehicle checks at roadblocks.
Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said a manifesto found inside a fake police car at one of the shooting
scenes mentioned Hortman, Hoffman, and other officials. Bruley said authorities immediately alerted potential
targets and provided security where needed.

The newly released images show a person wearing a mask resembling a white man, along with gear similar to that of
police officers. The mask bears a resemblance to one worn by Ryan Gosling in the 2011 film “Drive.”

Following the shootings, a shelter-in-place directive was issued for Minneapolis residents. The attacks occurred
