O’Connor brings a wealth of international and domestic experience to the club, having represented Ireland at the U21 level and competed in the UEFA Europa League and English Championship.

O’Connor’s football journey began in Ireland with Waterford United in 2013. He quickly rose to prominence, joining Cork City in 2015 and establishing himself as a versatile and dependable midfielder. during his time with Cork City, O’Connor made 13 appearances in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers, notably scoring the winning goal against Swedish club Häcken in a 1-0 victory on July 22, 2016.
His impressive performances earned him a spot on the Republic of Ireland U17, U18, and U21 national teams, where he gained valuable international experience.
In 2017, O’Connor made the move to England, signing with Preston North End in the Championship. He further honed his skills during loan spells with Fleetwood Town and Crewe Alexandra, adapting to the demands of English football.
Returning to Cork City for a brief period in the 2020/21 season, O’Connor made 13 appearances before transferring to Shelbourne, where he featured in 25 matches. He rejoined Cork City for the 2022 season, making 28 appearances and helping the team secure four trophies, including the prestigious Irish Championship.
