This followed an initial recall of certain lots of the medication that the company first announced in June. On September 17, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified the September recall as Class II. The earlier June recall has also been designated as a Class II risk level by the federal agency.

The September distribution involves more than 13,000 bottles of medication. Affected products consist of Chlorthalidone Tablets, USP, 25 mg, packaged in bottles containing 100 tablets for prescription use only, manufactured by Inventia Healthcare Limited.
