The Deputy Head of the FDNB recently embarked on a visit to the Central African Republic, with the primary objective of strengthening the morale of Burundian soldiers deployed within the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). During this visit, he met with Burundian peacekeepers stationed in the country under the United Nations flag, discussing their mission, living conditions, and other pertinent issues.
The discussions with the peacekeepers centered on the fulfillment of their assigned mission, with the Deputy Head emphasizing the importance of upholding the values of the FDNB, including discipline, loyalty, cohesion, patriotism, and professionalism. He encouraged them to remain committed to these values to ensure the successful execution of their mission.
Additionally, the Deputy Head of the FDNB held meetings with various MINUSCA authorities, including Lieutenant General Humphrey Nyone, Chief of Police, and Mohamed Ag Ayoya, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System, and Humanitarian Coordinator. These authorities expressed their appreciation for the significant contribution of Burundian peacekeepers deployed in the CAR within MINUSCA.
A meeting with the Chief of General Staff of the Central African Armed Forces also took place, during which bilateral cooperation between the two armies was discussed. The role of Burundian peacekeepers stationed in MINUSCA and the progress of non-commissioned officers from Central Africa undergoing military training in Burundi were also topics of discussion.
