Overnight Fire Causes Meaningful Damage
A three-alarm fire wholly destroyed a beach cabana located on Beach 193rd street in the Breezy Point section of Queens early Wednesday morning. The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) responded to the scene at approximately 4:30 a.m. EST.
Firefighters initially faced concerns about the structural integrity of the building, prompting a temporary withdrawal of units as a precaution against collapse. The blaze was brought under control after approximately three hours of firefighting efforts.
FDNY response and Inquiry
The FDNY reported no injuries related to the incident. According to the FDNY’s official Twitter account (posted December 24, 2025), the initial responding unit immediately requested a second alarm due to the intensity of the fire. At its peak, the operation involved five hand lines.
