Federal Reserve Banks Holiday Schedule for 2026
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and its member banks in the Sixth District have announced their holiday schedule for 2026, along with schedules extending through 2030. The schedule outlines specific dates when Federal Reserve Banks and branches will be closed, impacting financial operations and services.
According to the schedule, New Year’s Day will be observed on January 1st in 2026, as in subsequent years through 2030. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is slated for January 19th in 2026, shifting slightly in later years to January 18th (2027), January 17th (2028), January 15th (2029) and January 21st (2030).
February 16th, 2026, is designated as Washington’s Birthday (Presidents Day). This date also shifts in subsequent years: February 15th (2027), February 21st (2028), February 19th (2029), and February 18th (2030).
Memorial Day will be observed on May 25th in 2026, followed by May 31st (2027), May 29th (2028), May 28th (2029), and May 27th (2030). Juneteenth National Independence Day will be observed on June 19th each year from 2026 through 2030, with a note that in 2027 it will be observed on June 19*.
Independence Day is scheduled for July 4th in 2026, with July 4* noted for 2027 and 2028. The holiday will be observed on July 4th in 2029 and 2030.
Labor Day is set for September 7th in 2026, moving to September 6th (2027), September 4th (2028), September 3rd (2029), and September 2nd (2030). Columbus Day will be observed on October 12th in 2026, then October 11th (2027), October 9th (2028), October 8th (2029), and October 14th (2030).
Veterans Day is scheduled for November 11th annually from 2026 through 2030, with November 11* noted for 2028 and 2029. Thanksgiving Day will be observed on November 26th in 2026, shifting to November 25th (2027), November 23rd (2028), November 22nd (2029), and November 28th (2030).
Christmas Day will be observed on December 25th each year from 2026 through 2030, with December 25* noted for 2027, 2028, and 2029.
The Federal Reserve Banks and Branches will generally be open the preceding Friday when a holiday falls on a Saturday. Conversely, when a holiday falls on a Sunday, all Federal Reserve offices will be closed the following Monday. This policy ensures minimal disruption to financial services while acknowledging national observances.
