Feminicide Case: Alejandra Rivas and Daughter Murdered in Colima as Suspect Planned Attack
Tragic Murder of Alejandra Rivas and Her Baby
José Mariano “N” is the main suspect in the murder of Alejandra Rivas and her one-year-old daughter, María José Rivas. Authorities believe he planned the crime in advance. Bryant Alejandro García Ramírez, the head of the Colima state prosecutor’s office, stated that a friend of Mariano provided this information, revealing that he had previously attempted to kill Alejandra about four months earlier.
The witness reported that José Mariano searched for Alejandra in Tlajomulco but failed to find her. The attack happened on November 1. The motive for the murder was to hide his infidelity from his wife, although she was already aware of Alejandra. The authorities confirmed that Mariano’s current partner did not participate in the crime.
If convicted, Mariano “N” could face up to 70 years in prison. Investigations continue as the family mourns the loss. Alejandra and María José were buried after their bodies were discovered in Colima, where they had gone to meet Mariana, the alleged biological father of the child.
The Colima prosecutor’s office has arrested Mariano “N” based on solid evidence gathered during the investigation.
