The Federal Government filed a fresh charge against Adeniyi Adeyemi at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Adeyemi stands accused of presenting himself as the Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), an entity that the Presidency has stated it neither established nor authorized.
Federal High Court Strikes Out Original Case After Prosecution Review
Justice Mohammed Umar struck out the original eight-count charge on October 12, 2026, after the prosecution applied to terminate the proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Rotimi Oyedepo, Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, explained to the bench that an assessment of the case documents by the Attorney-General of the Federation revealed legal grounds necessitating a relocation of the trial.
The prosecution stated that the fraudulent paperwork tied to the matter properly belongs under the authority of the FCT High Court rather than the Federal High Court. Adeyemi’s lawyer, Ibrahim Angulu, did not oppose the application to transfer the proceedings, prompting Justice Umar to strike out the initial charges.
Forgery and Impersonation Allegations Involving Unnamed Suspects
Adeyemi previously pleaded not guilty on September 30, 2026, to charges bordering on conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation. According to the state, he utilized fabricated official paperwork—such as a fake presidential appointment letter—to portray himself as the head of the organization and interact with state bodies.
Two additional individuals, previously referenced in earlier sessions as Femi and Anu, were also linked to the matter, though their current whereabouts remain unknown. Following his initial arraignment before the Federal High Court, Adeyemi was remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further proceedings.
Fresh Arraignment Expected at the FCT High Court
Dismissing the initial charge opens the path for authorities to advance the accusations through the newly submitted lawsuit at the FCT High Court. The procedural shift does not amount to a determination of Adeyemi’s guilt or innocence, and he has denied wrongdoing.
This upcoming plea hearing will usher in a new chapter of the legal process as authorities continue pressing their claims against him.
