After more then two decades, one of the most beloved RPGs of all time, Planescape: Torment, is set to receive an remarkable expansion courtesy of a dedicated team of Polish modders.
Planescape: Torment, a title synonymous with the golden age of CRPGs, is about to embark on an unexpected journey. A group of passionate Polish modders has announced “Blizzard in Baator,” an ambitious project hailed as the “first unofficial DLC” for the Black Isle classic.
This expansive mod plunges the Nameless One and his companions into a new district of Sigil and the depths of Baator itself. Players will find themselves embroiled in the eternal Cold War between the rulers of the Nine Hells.The creators are promising a wealth of fresh content,including new locations,two original companions,a completely original musical score,cinematic cutscenes,and restored elements that were cut from the original game.
Designed for high-level characters, “Blizzard in Baator” picks up the narrative thread following the return from Carceri. While the complete edition is slated for release by 2031, the modders are offering a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come with the release of the first act later this year, promising approximately a dozen hours of gameplay. Best of all, the expansion will be available free of charge in both English and Polish.
