Financial Aid Assistant at Montgomery College Rockville Campus

Montgomery College is seeking a full-time Financial Aid Assistant to join the Financial Aid Department at its Rockville Campus.

The position, identified as S03077, is a grade 21 role classified as Non-Bargaining and Non-Exempt. Under the terms of the college’s employment policies, individuals in non-exempt positions are not eligible to hold a secondary job at Montgomery College.

Role and Responsibilities

The Financial Aid Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for students and their family representatives. This involves managing communications through in-person interactions, telephone calls, and email correspondence to provide customer service.

The incumbent operates under the direct supervision of the Campus Student Financial Aid Director. Work is conducted according to established precedents, procedures, regulations, and rules, with nonstandard or unusual matters referred to supervisors as appropriate.

Schedule and Work Conditions

The position requires a 40-hour weekly work schedule. The established hours are 8:30 a.m. To 5:00 p.m. On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 10:00 a.m. To 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday.

The role is eligible for telework one day per week, although this eligibility is subject to change based on the operational needs of the unit.
