Younha Celebrates 20th Debut Anniversary with New Album ’Growth Theory’
Younha, who recently celebrated her 20th debut anniversary, shared her thoughts on her singing career. “I’m looking for what real art is. In a capitalist society, music is a luxury, but I try not to be hypocritical as a singer when assigning value. I think that in the past and in the future, I’m still in the process of finding that sweet spot.”
Younha, who has been running hard in the music industry, released her seventh full-length album ‘Growth Theory’ on the 1st to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut. ‘Growth Theory’ is a full-length album that Younha prepared for about a year. It is the second story of a trilogy, released 2 years and 10 months after her 6th album ‘End Theory’ in November 2021.
Regarding her new album, Younha said, “This is an album that I worked on for a year. I think it will be my most splendid album,” and expressed her confidence by saying, “I think it would be good to think of this album as a rock album. It is an album in which I have taken on all the musical challenges that I have wanted to do without any desire.”

Younha has always preferred and stuck to rock-style music that utilizes her high-pitched vocals. Although she has a strong tendency toward ballads, Younha’s voice in the rock version is undoubtedly attractive. She said that while she thinks about the public’s reaction, it’s also important to do the music she wants.
Younha is carrying out various activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut this year, including the release of her 7th regular album. First of all, she successfully held a nationwide tour and small theater concerts, starting with her first solo concert at K-Spo Dome (formerly the Gymnastics Arena) in February.

Younha is one of the artists who has a solid presence among domestic female solo singers. The reason she has been loved for a long time is undoubtedly her outstanding vocal skills. However, Younha chose ‘fans’ first when asked about the secret to her longevity.
Younha said, “The reason I do music is for my own satisfaction, but I can’t leave out gratitude towards my fans. I’m lucky and fortunate that things are going well for me. My fans are the ones who have shared in my struggles, even when I’ve seen singers go through slumps and wander. I’m always grateful that they never left me and continued to grow me as a singer.”
Younha has overcome her own experiences. In the current music industry where idol music is mainstream, Younha has learned how to survive. ’Good music’ will eventually become known. “The reverse run of ‘Love Horizon’ was a clear opportunity for me to confirm what I should do and what I can do. I think that only a good album can return the love I received. It is an album that I am 100% satisfied with. I hope that many people will listen to the songs and rely on them.”
