Finn Wolfhard and A$AP Rocky kicked off the new year as host and musical guest on saturday night Live. It marked Wolfhard’s first time hosting the show, though the Stranger Things actor previously appeared in the 2024 film Saturday Night, where he played an NBC page. he was even the subject of a playful jab during Weekend Update last month when cast member Jane Wickline sang, “Finn Wolfhard is the devil to me.” A$AP Rocky made his SNL debut, but fans might remember his 2018 cameo in Donald Glover’s migos parody, “Friendos.”
Rocky used his performance slots to showcase tracks from his latest album, Don’t Be Dumb. He began with “Punk Rocky,” bringing onstage collaborators Thundercat, Danny Elfman, and mark Harley – though Stranger Things‘ Winona Ryder, who appeared in the song’s music video,wasn’t present. Rocky followed that with a medley of “Don’t Be Dumb”/”Trip Baby” – featuring a sample from Clairo – and “Helicopter.”
