Chesterfield Fire and EMS responded to the 1700 block of Providence Villas Court at the Villas at Providence at approximately 6:30 p.m. On Saturday. Upon arrival, emergency crews observed flames emanating from the garage of a single-story unit that is attached to three other residences within the retirement neighborhood.
Cause of the Incident
Investigators determined that the fire began when a neighbor backed their vehicle into a garage door. The impact of the crash pulled an electrical box from its base, which subsequently sparked the fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, but the fire caused damage to three attached condominiums. While no injuries were reported, the incident resulted in the displacement of residents.
