Station Commander Justin Randtoul, who attended the scene, stated that crews remained on site throughout the evening to damp down remaining hot spots.
Public Safety and Traffic Impact
Due to the significant amount of smoke generated by the fire, the London Fire Brigade issued strong advice to local businesses and residents to keep their doors and windows closed.
We asked people to avoid the area wherever possible, as road closures were in place, which was causing congestion.
Station Commander Justin Randtoul
The road closures implemented to facilitate the emergency response led to traffic congestion in the surrounding area of Perivale.
