Fitbit Revamps App with New Device Settings Design

The Fitbit app is undergoing a modernization, starting with a redesign of the device settings page for both smartwatches and trackers. This update provides a more intuitive user experience for managing your Fitbit device.
The refreshed interface, now rolling out, features a prominent preview of the connected device and current watch face. Key facts such as connection status, battery level, and last sync time are readily visible. A sync button is located in the upper-right corner for immediate access. The previous design, wich used tiles for different features, had been in place for several years.
The new Fitbit app redesign includes a row of cards for Watch faces,apps,and Tiles,mirroring the design of the Pixel Watch companion app for Wear OS. Tapping these cards leads to the familiar management interface.
The “Settings” list, as seen on a Fitbit Sense 2, now offers streamlined menus for:
- Notifications: Manage calls, texts, and app alerts.
- device preferences: adjust wrist preference and device lock settings.
- Google: Access Wallet and Maps integrations.
- Fitbit reminders & alerts: Customize move reminders, goal celebrations, and heart rate notifications.
- Tips & support: Find tutorials, device guides, and help resources.
- System: Manage software updates and device disconnection.

The user interface for Fitbit trackers is similar, with the device settings update already available in recent weeks.
Fitbit has been systematically updating its Android and iOS app over the past year. Most health stats, with the exception of food logging, have been modernized with new layouts and charts. App settings were previously updated in June 2024.
