Pure Fitness Lays Off 40 Employees,‍ Fails to Pay Some Staff

Pure Fitness, a prominent fitness chain, has reportedly laid off approximately 40 employees in recent months. Unfortunately, ⁢some‌ of these employees have yet to receive their final ⁢salary, totaling tens of thousands of dollars. As a result, ‌they have sought assistance ‌from ⁢the Labor⁢ Department.

The laid-off employees include various professionals such as fitness coaches, human resources personnel, marketing personnel, and nutritionists. Some ⁢of these individuals hold middle- ‍and senior-level positions within the company. A former fitness instructor ⁤revealed that⁢ the company required him to sign⁤ a contract termination document, stating that he could not pursue legal action against the company.

Pure Fitness Claims No Delay in Paying ‍Statutory Compensation

Pure Fitness has stated that⁤ it will provide suitable compensation to affected ⁢employees due to its ⁤investment in artificial intelligence and automation technology, aimed at⁤ reducing manpower. The ⁣company claims that it has not delayed the payment of all statutory compensation. A portion of the commission is⁤ calculated on a monthly basis and is expected to be paid shortly. The Labor ⁢Department has ‍responded to media inquiries, stating that if employees are owed wages or other employment ⁤rights, they should provide information to the Labor Relations Division as ‍soon as possible. ‍The department will provide appropriate assistance in such cases.

Additionally, if employees suspect that the ‌documents they have signed⁣ may terminate or⁣ undermine their employee⁤ rights‌ or protections, they may contact the Labor Relations Division for assistance. This ⁢support⁣ is available to ensure that employees receive fair treatment and compensation.
