Five Arrested and £1m Worth of Drugs Seized in Belfast

Law enforcement authorities in Northern Ireland seized approximately 14 kilograms of suspected cocaine and a quantity of herbal cannabis during a multi-day operation in the Greater Belfast area on August 10 and August 11, 2026. The seized drugs hold an estimated combined street value of more than £1 million.

PSNI Organised Crime Branch Leads Proactive Sweep

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Organised Crime Branch led the proactive operation targeting local drug criminality. The multi-day effort swept across the Greater Belfast area.

According to Belfast Live, the operation yielded approximately 14 kilograms of suspected cocaine valued at roughly £1,120,000 alongside an additional quantity of suspected herbal cannabis worth approximately £15,000.

Five Men Arrested and Held in Custody

Police confirmed the arrests of five men aged 26, 27, 33, 34, and 59 in connection with the seizures.

According to law enforcement statements cited by Belfast Live, all five suspects remain in police custody while enquiries continue on suspicion of multiple offenses, including the possession of Class A and Class B controlled drugs with intent to supply.

PSNI Detective Inspector Miskelly addressed the community impact of the seizures through published statements, emphasizing that families across Belfast reject the community harm driven by illegal drug networks.
