LOON-PLAGE, France – A shooting near a migrant camp in northern France has left at least five people dead, according to french authorities. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. local time on Saturday in Loon-Plage, a coastal town near the Belgian border.A suspect turned himself in at a police station in Ghyvelde, confessing to the Loon-Plage shooting and a fifth murder that took place earlier in the nearby town of Wormhout.
According to reports from French newspaper La Voix du Nord,the victims in Loon-Plage include two Kurdish migrants and two employees of a port security company. The victim in Wormhout was the owner of a local transportation company.French authorities have identified the suspect as a 22-year-old man from the nearby town of Dunkerque. Police reportedly recovered three additional weapons from the suspect’s vehicle.
