Paris Paralympic Games Conclude with Grand Party

The Paris Paralympic Games came to a successful conclusion with a grand party-themed closing ceremony held at the Stade de France. The ceremony, which lasted about three hours, was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron and International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons.

Despite the rain, the ceremony continued with a show featuring six acts performed by French singers. The disabled played the French national anthem and raised the national flag, followed by the entrance of the delegations.

The national team flag bearers were swimming representative Jiang Yuyan and athletics representative Di Dongdong. The Hong Kong team was represented by badminton representative Chan Ho Yuen and swimming representative Chan Ruilin as flag bearers. Badminton representative Chu Wenjia and other Hong Kong team representatives attended the ceremony.

This year, 23 Hong Kong players competed and won a total of eight medals, including 3 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze. The performance continued, and the Stade de France became a stage where disabled people danced with crutches.

Paris Mayor Hidalgo handed over the Paralympic flag to the female mayor of the next host city of Los Angeles, Bass, through Parsons. The American national anthem was played, and the United States was responsible for a performance segment of about 9 minutes.

The next Paralympic Games will be held in 2028. The Olympic flame was passed by French athletes, and the Olympic flames in the Tuileries Garden were extinguished at the same time, symbolizing the official end of this Paralympic Games.

The finale performance was an electronic music party featuring Charlie, known as the father of French electronic music, who performed on the stage with 23 other DJs. The performance lasted about an hour, and the athletes came on stage together at the end.

In line with the theme, the grand party brought the Paris Paralympic Games to a successful conclusion.
