josh Klinghoffer, the former ​Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist⁤ and Pearl Jam touring member, has resolved allegations related to a fatal traffic ⁣accident. He entered a no-jail ‍plea deal Wednesday,‌ admitting no contest to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without ⁤gross negligence.

The Los Angeles County superior Court in ⁣Alhambra, California, sentenced ⁤Klinghoffer‌ to one year of informal probation and 60 days of community ‌labor. Judge ​Rosa Fregoso also ordered ​him⁢ to complete a ⁢driver safety course​ and pay restitution, the amount‌ to be determined later.

Prosecutors⁣ brought charges against Klinghoffer in August ⁤following the March 18, 2024, incident. Klinghoffer, 45, ​driving a ⁣2022 GMC Yukon, struck Israel sanchez, 47, in a crosswalk. Sanchez died later ‍at⁢ a ​hospital from ​blunt force trauma.

During Wednesday’s hearing, a prosecutor cautioned Klinghoffer about distracted driving, stating that a ‌subsequent fatal‌ incident could result in a murder charge. Klinghoffer acknowledged ⁤the warning.

Ashley Sanchez, the victim’s daughter, shared a tearful victim impact statement, describing her father​ as an extraordinary grandfather whose absence created an irreversible void.
