Fatal Plane Crash Involves Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil’s Learjet
Updated June 12, 2025
A Learjet 35a owned by Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil was involved in a fatal collision at Scottsdale (Ariz.) airport, according to attorney Worrick Robinson IV. The incident occurred at 2:39 p.m. local time when the jet veered off the runway while landing and struck a parked Gulfstream G-200.
Neil was not aboard the aircraft at the time of the crash. His lawyer described the situation as “rapidly evolving” and under inquiry. He added that Neil’s “thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved” and expressed gratitude to first responders.
The FAA confirmed that the pilot of the Learjet died. Of the four people on board, the co-pilot and one passenger sustained serious injuries.
A preliminary report by the NTSB, released march 3, indicated potential landing gear issues. Surveillance and cell phone video footage showed the jet’s rear left landing gear in an “askew” position upon approach, according to WMTV 15 News.
The same flight crew had reported a landing issue in McAlester, Okla., on June 20, 2024. A mechanic performed maintenance, and further work was done in December. While one mechanic noted “nothing appeared unusual,” the report stated the left landing gear required excessive grease.

What’s next
The NTSB investigation is ongoing, and a full report is expected to provide further details about the cause of the crash involving vince Neil’s plane and any contributing factors.
