Thai Government Speeds Up Flood Compensation Payments
Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai announced that the government will expedite the payment of the first compensation amount to flood-affected families, with each family receiving 5,000 baht initially.
Meanwhile, Mr. Anutin has ordered the permanent secretary of the Interior Ministry to travel to Chiang Rai to assess the flood situation, following the governor’s announcement that he is ill and awaiting retirement. A deputy permanent secretary is set to take over on October 1.
