Flash Floods Inundate Phayao University Dormitories, Military Mobilized for Evacuation
Flash floods have inundated dormitories outside Phayao University, prompting a swift response from rescue workers and military personnel to evacuate students stranded in the affected areas.
On September 21, 2024, a sudden and intense flash flood occurred in front of Phayao University, causing widespread flooding in many dormitories. Students were forced to quickly gather their belongings and move to higher ground, fearing a repeat of previous flooding incidents.
In response to the crisis, military officers, the Luecha Foundation, and various other organizations in Phayao province have mobilized to assist students trapped in dormitories who are unable to exit.

The flash floods, caused by heavy rainfall, have resulted in the Huai Kiang River overflowing its banks, causing widespread flooding in the area. With more rain forecasted, there are concerns that the situation may worsen, potentially leading to severe flooding similar to previous incidents.
