The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) baseball team completed a series sweep of Florida Atlantic University on April 4, 2026, securing a 10-4 victory in Boca Raton, Florida.

The win marked the ninth consecutive victory for the Blazers, who used a productive ninth inning to pull away from the Owls.

Game Progression and Scoring

Florida Atlantic established an early lead, scoring first in the bottom of the second inning when John Martinez hit a double to left field, bringing Ian Collier home.

The Owls extended their lead in the bottom of the third inning. Four consecutive hitters reached base via singles, with Michael Perazza driving in the second run of the game.

Ian Collier then hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Marshall Lipsey, giving Florida Atlantic a 3-0 advantage through the first three innings.

UAB remained scoreless through the first four innings before beginning their comeback in the top of the fifth. Baylor Roberts started the inning with a leadoff triple and subsequently scored on a double by Kevin Hall Jr., reducing the lead to 3-1.

The Blazers tied the game in the top of the seventh inning. Kevin Hall Jr. Again drove in Baylor Roberts to cut the lead to one run. Following a flyout and a base-running play that moved Hall to second base, Landon Beaver hit a single to center field to bring Hall home, knotting the score at three.

In the eighth inning, Wesley Helms began the UAB attack with a two-out single.

The game was decided in the ninth inning, where UAB plated six runs to secure the 10-4 final score.
