The Florida Gators secured a meaningful recruiting victory Saturday, gaining a commitment from four-star wide receiver Marquez Daniel. Daniel, a standout at Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee, Ala., is ranked as the No. 24 wide receiver and No. 162 overall recruit in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.
Daniel represents the highest-rated commitment in the Gators’ 2026 class, bringing the total number of pledges to nine. The 6-foot-5,187-pound receiver ultimately chose Florida over Auburn after an official visit to Gainesville.
Fans took to social media to express their excitement about the commitment.
“Billy Napier on an amazing run,” one fan wrote.

Why Florida?
Despite a strong connection with Auburn wide receivers coach Marcus Davis, Daniel saeid florida’s coaching staff made a more significant impression.
“What makes florida stand out to me are the coaching staff,” Daniel told On3. “Coach Napier is really a great coach. Told me from day one that I will be a great student-athlete and he believed in me.”
Daniel also cited Florida staff member Chad Lucas, an alumnus of his high school who previously held receiving records there, as influential in his decision.
“Him and my mom went to school with each other,” Daniel said, according to A to Z Sports.”He talks to her a lot.”
Daniel is expected to play on the outside,complementing fellow four-star receiver Justin Williams. The Gators have also recently secured a commitment from four-star running back Carsyn Baker.
