Florida Man, 71, Shot Dead by Neighbor Over Loud Music Dispute on Thanksgiving

A 71-year-old man from Florida named Hureleyon McLean was shot and killed by his neighbor this Thanksgiving Day. The incident occurred in Lauderdale Lakes during a dispute over loud music. McLean’s widow, Rose, said he went to speak with the neighbor after receiving a complaint note.

Rose described hearing the gunshot and finding her husband lying on the ground. She claimed her husband had no weapons and was merely trying to address the noise issue. After the shooting, the neighbor allegedly threatened her with the gun.

The alleged shooter is claiming self-defense, and no charges have been filed yet. Rose expressed her shock and pain, stating they had plans to celebrate the holiday with family. She confronted the neighbor after the incident, asking why he shot her husband.

Local officials are investigating the case. The Broward County State Attorney’s Office will decide if any criminal charges are warranted. McLean was a father and grandfather, and the community mourns his loss.
