Amsterdam-Flower, a Swedish energy tech company, has been awarded the TECH5 prize, recognizing it as one of Europe’s leading scaleups. The Stockholm-based business was honored for its innovative approach to energy storage and grid stabilization, vital components in the shift toward renewable energy sources.
Flower’s software platform analyzes energy asset portfolios, providing insights that guide storage and management strategies. This optimization improves predictability and versatility for both energy producers and consumers, leading to a more balanced energy supply and smoother integration of renewables.
The company collaborates with clients operating battery storage systems, including electric vehicle fleets, home batteries, solar parks, and data centers. Flower enables these clients to push power back into the grid during peak demand, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and strengthening grid resilience.
hampus Jildenbäck, marketing director at Flower, emphasized the importance of battery energy storage in managing the volatility associated with renewable energy. “The most efficient way to manage that volatility is through battery energy storage,” Jildenbäck said. “If we want to rely on a fossil-free energy system, we will need to solve a lot of problems – this is the key one.”
Flower was selected from a group of finalists that included DataSnipper (Netherlands), Swan (France), Gain.pro (Netherlands), and Turing college (Lithuania). The companies were evaluated on growth, impact, and future potential.
