Flyadeal Expands Fleet with Latest Airbus A320neo Aircraft
By Doa Sameer
Flyadeal, the fastest-growing low-cost airline in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, has received its latest Airbus A320neo aircraft, the second in two months. This addition increases flyadeal’s fleet to 34 A320 family aircraft.
“The arrival of a new aircraft represents a celebration of the tremendous behind-the-scenes efforts of both airlines and manufacturers to meet delivery dates.” – Stephen Greenway, Flyadeal CEO
According to Mr. Greenway, this new acquisition is the second in flyadeal’s ambitious aircraft ownership program, following the first delivery last June. The airline continues to drive expansion, with committed plans to gradually roll out over the coming months. The focus is on increasing flights on high-demand routes and adding new international destinations to cater to growing travel needs.
Flyadeal currently operates flights from three major stations in the Kingdom, including Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, to around 30 destinations in Saudi Arabia and selected destinations in the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa.
A320neo Aircraft: The Backbone of Flyadeal’s Fleet
The A320neo aircraft is distinguished by its high standards and specifications for economy aviation. It features a spacious cabin with 186 seats in a 3-3 configuration and spacious overhead luggage lockers.
Flyadeal’s fleet is one of the newest in the industry, with an average age of just over two years. The airline has 23 A320neo and 11 CEO aircraft.
Future Fleet Expansion
Three additional A320neo aircraft are scheduled to be delivered before the end of this year, followed by eight more aircraft by 2025. These aircraft have proven their energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.
This summer, flyadeal signed the largest deal in its history to purchase 51 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family, including 12 A320neo aircraft and 39 larger A321neo aircraft, to meet the future needs of the fleet.
