Anthropic has introduced a new frontier AI model called Claude Mythos, which the company describes as having capabilities that could reshape cybersecurity. Due to the potential risks associated with the model’s power, Anthropic is not releasing it to the general public, instead limiting access to a select group of partner organizations through a defensive security initiative known as Project Glasswing.
The decision to restrict the model follows a leak of Claude’s code and a subsequent blog post published by Anthropic in early April 2026. In that post, the company stated that AI models had surpassed all but the most skilled humans at finding and exploiting software vulnerabilities

Project Glasswing and Defensive Deployment
Project Glasswing is a joint initiative designed to use the capabilities of Claude Mythos in a defensive manner before such tools proliferate. The model is being used to scan both open-source and first-party software systems to identify code vulnerabilities.
Anthropic claims that over the few weeks preceding the April 7, 2026, announcement, Mythos identified thousands of zero-day vulnerabilities, many of which were critical and some of which were one to two decades old. While the model was not specifically trained for cybersecurity, it possesses strong reasoning and agentic coding skills.
The initiative involves 12 core partner organizations that will deploy the model for defensive security work and share their findings to benefit the broader tech industry. These partners include:
- Amazon Web Services
- Apple
- Broadcom
- Cisco
- CrowdStrike
- JPMorganChase
- The Linux Foundation
- Microsoft
- Nvidia
- Palo Alto Networks
In addition to these primary partners, 40 other organizations have been invited to participate in the Mythos preview.
Government and Financial Sector Concerns
The release of Claude Mythos has prompted immediate concern from U.S. Financial regulators. During the week of April 12, 2026, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent summoned major American bank chiefs to a meeting at Treasury headquarters in Washington.

The meeting was held to discuss the cyber risks posed by the model. Jerome Powell, chair of the Federal Reserve, was also reported to be among those gathered for the discussion.
Additional Tech Developments
Alongside the developments in AI security, reports indicate new hardware movements from Apple and Tesla. Apple is rumored to be developing a foldable device, potentially named the iPhone Ultra. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the device is expected to cross the $2,000 threshold in the U.S. Market.
Meanwhile, Tesla is reportedly developing a new, smaller, and cheaper electric SUV. Sources indicate the vehicle would be approximately 4.28 meters (about 14 feet) in length, making it significantly shorter than the Model Y, which measures roughly 15.7 feet. This new compact SUV is described as a new vehicle rather than a variant of existing models.
