Foo Fighters have released a music video for their new single “Spit Shine” featuring a zombie apocalypse, written and directed by Dave Grohl. The visuals depict the band performing in front of a mural of the late Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead when a zombie horde invades the performance.
As NME reports, the video features a “gory attack on the civilians” and culminates with the band members covered in blood as they continue to play. Grohl’s daughter, Harper, was involved in the casting of the video and also appears in it.
“Spit Shine” is taken from the Foo Fighters’ new album, Your Favorite Toy and follows previously released singles “Asking For A Friend,” “Of All People,” and the album’s title track.
“The visuals for the single…find the band playing a show in front of a Lemmy mural which is overrun by a zombie horde. The zombies launch a gory attack on the civilians and by its conclusion, the Foos are splattered in blood as they play.”

The band recently appeared on Saturday Night Live UK, performing “Caught in the Echo” and “Child Actor” live for the first time. They also participated in a sketch with host Nicola Coughlan and Jimmy Fallon, where Grohl agreed to be Coughlan’s best friend at Fallon’s prompting.
During an album launch event in London, Grohl and Pat Smear surprised fans by joining a fan’s karaoke performance of the band’s 1997 track “Monkey Wrench.”
Your Favorite Toy Reception
NME gave Your Favorite Toy a rating of three and a half stars in a review, noting Grohl’s rediscovered vocal power but suggesting the lyrics are often unremarkable. The review highlighted “Child Actor” as a standout track, describing it as an examination of Grohl’s need for validation after 30 years as the frontman of the Foo Fighters.
Spit Shine Child Actor Your Favorite Toy Reception
“‘Your Favorite Toy’ is a few more tracks of that depth away from being the most vital Foo Fighters record since 1997’s ‘The Colour and the Shape’. For now, at least, they have remembered that no-frills punk, played fast and loud, suits them much better than middle-of-the-road dad-rock.”

The Foo Fighters are set to embark on a European stadium tour, including two nights at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium in late June. They will also be performing at major European shows this summer and a North American stadium tour. They have announced an Australian and New Zealand tour for late 2026 and early 2027.
Tickets for the North American tour are available here, and tickets for UK and European shows can be found here.
In other news, Dave Grohl recently recalled accidentally insulting David Bowie and shared his “boozy secret” for maintaining his vocal cords. He also made a rare political statement about the “deeply divided” state of America, stating, “There needs to be change.”
