Sardar Azmoun Offers Aid as Israel-Iran Conflict Intensifies

Iranian soccer​ star Sardar Azmoun, who plays for Shabab ‌Al ​Ahli, is providing⁤ assistance to Iranians urged ⁣to evacuate‌ major cities amid the⁤ ongoing conflict ​with Israel. Azmoun reportedly earns an annual salary of £3 million.

The conflict began with Israeli airstrikes targeting military sites and nuclear scientists. In response, Iran has launched missiles and drones into Israel.

According to ‍a Washington-based Iranian human rights‌ group, at least ⁣639 peopel in Iran, including 263 ⁣civilians, have ⁢died, and over 1,300 have been wounded. Israeli casualties include at least 24 deaths ​and hundreds‍ wounded from approximately 400 Iranian missiles and⁤ drones.

On Thursday, Israel conducted strikes on‍ Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor.The strikes mark the seventh day of the​ conflict.

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas ‌Araghchi, ⁣is scheduled to meet with counterparts from Germany, ​France, and the UK ​in Geneva on​ Friday.

France, Germany, the ⁢UK,‍ and ‌the EU jointly issued a statement on Wednesday urging restraint and⁣ a return​ to diplomacy.
