The 2008 comedy, Forgetting sarah Marshall, proved to be a turning point for Jason Segel and Kristen Bell. The film, which follows a man’s Hawaiian vacation after a breakup, unexpectedly reshaped their careers.
Bell, previously known for her role in Veronica Mars, transitioned into comedic roles after playing Sarah Marshall. She went on to star in movies such as Couples Retreat and Bad Moms, as well as the series The Good Place.
Segel, who had acted in Freaks and Geeks and How I Met Your Mother, saw his writing career take off after Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which Nicholas Stoller directed. Segel and Stoller later collaborated on The Muppets, The Five-Year Engagement, and Sex Tape.
