Race Disrupted by Early Incidents
The race experienced early disruption on the first lap when formula 1 debutant Gabriel Bortoleto (Sauber) lost control while attempting an overtake on Lance Stroll,resulting in a collision with the retaining wall and a subsequent Safety Car period lasting until lap six.
Multiple Retirements Shake Up the Order
following the restart, a collision between Kimi Antonelli and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, influenced by an earlier maneuver from Oscar Piastri, led to Leclerc’s retirement from the race. Further compounding the issues, Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) was forced to retire on lap 38 after contact with the Alpine of Franco Colapinto.
