Tim Tramnitz – Race Winner
Tim tramnitz (MP Motorsport)
“Yeah, for sure, I think that’s what we needed after some tough rounds where a few things went wrong and not quite our way. But I think the pace was always there. I mean, of course, it makes it a lot easier if you are in the top 12 after quality. I think we had the opportunity today to win, and we took it. So very happy with that.”
Tramnitz emphasized the importance of the win after a series of difficult races, highlighting the team’s consistent pace. He acknowledged the advantage of a strong qualifying position and the opportunity to capitalize on it during the race.
Tim Tramnitz (MP Motorsport)
“It was a bit more difficult, because I thoght at the beginning about tyre saving quite a lot, but it seemed like, because on the Soft tyre, we don’t have so much experience. The characteristics of the tracks are very different. so this is pretty much the first time that it’s a normal track so we don’t have so much data on the Soft tyre. and it’s always a bit of a surprise. And I realised at some point that I can push quite a lot, and then I started pushing. But without a doubt, the DRS games are always a bit tactical around here.”
Tramnitz discussed the challenges of tyre management, particularly with limited experience on the soft tyre compound at Monza. He noted the importance of adapting to the track’s characteristics and utilizing the DRS effectively.
Tim Tramnitz (MP Motorsport)
“It must be the target. I mean, if I want to have a chance to finish second, I have to go for it and I will tomorrow. so I think I was second for quite a long time. Like I said, the last races were a bit tough for us, and we had a lot of experiences which weren’t nice. But conversely, we also learned a lot of things, and hopefully we can put it all together also tomorrow in the Feature Race.”
Looking ahead to the Feature Race, Tramnitz confirmed his intention to push for second place in the championship, acknowledging the 10-point gap to Mari Boya. He expressed confidence in the lessons learned from recent challenges.
Championship Implications
With this win, Tim Tramnitz strengthens his position in the championship standings. While the title is out of reach, a strong performance in the Feature Race could see him challenge for second place. Mari Boya currently leads with a 10-point advantage over Tramnitz.
