The FTC initially took action against Epic Games, Fortnite’s developer, over allegations of using deceptive practices, or “dark patterns,” to trick players into making unintended purchases. Epic games was ordered to pay $245 million in refunds and a $275 million penalty for violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection act.

Who is Eligible for a Fortnite Refund?
You might potentially be eligible for a Fortnite refund if:

- You were locked out of your account after disputing wrongful charges with your credit card company between january 2017 and September 2022.
Players of all ages are eligible, but those under 18 require a parent or guardian to file the claim. Currently, only U.S. residents are eligible for refunds.
