Fortnite’s Death Star Sabotage Event: A Galactic Showdown
Updated June 02, 2025
The Fortnite Star Wars season culminates with the Death star Sabotage live event, offering players a chance to invade and, presumably, destroy the iconic Death Star. This event precedes the transition to a new summer season of battle royale.
Unlike previous Star Wars integrations, this event provides a definitive conclusion, tasking players with storming the Death Star, which has been a looming presence over the island. The Death Star Sabotage event is designed as a special, one-time mode.
Such large-scale events are typically reserved for chapter finales. The last similar mid-chapter event was the Collision event at the close of Chapter 3 Season 2, nearly three years ago, which, according to the storyline, brought Darth Vader to the island.
Event Details
The Death Star sabotage live event is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, at 2 p.m. ET. Players can join the special mode via the Discover pane starting two hours early, at noon ET. As the event time approaches, it will likely become the only available mode.
Missing it means missing out, as there will be no repeats. Though, the event will be widely streamed on platforms like Twitch and youtube.
What to Expect
The Death Star Sabotage event will likely be a concise, scripted experience lasting approximately 10 to 20 minutes. While interactive, with targets and objectives, it is indeed designed more as an immersive experience than a test of skill.

While specific details remain under wraps, promotional art suggests players, possibly disguised as stormtroopers, will confront Emperor Palpatine and disable shields or tractor beams. This is all part of the Fortnite Star wars integration.
To get a sense of what to expect, consider watching replays of the Collision event from June 2022.
What’s next
Following the event, Fortnite will likely go offline for about 12 hours before the new season launches Sunday morning.
