Upcoming Blood Drive Locations and Dates
Here’s a schedule of the upcoming blood donation clinics:
- May 6: Saint-Lazare, at the barracks (1800 Bédard), from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- May 6: Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, at the Hotel Moco (40 Av du Centenaire), from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- May 9: Coteau-du-Lac, at the community center (2 rue Georges-Jules-Beaudet), from 1 p.m.to 8 p.m.
- May 14: Pincourt, Edgewater primary school (220, boulevard Cardinal-Léger)
- May 16: Vaudreuil-Dorion, Secondary school of cité-des-jeunes (400, avenue St-Charles)
While appointments are recommended, walk-ins are welcome. individuals available at a collection site are encouraged to check with the on-site team to see if they can be accommodated.
Preparation for Blood Donation
Héma-Québec advises donors to take certain steps before donating blood. These include drinking at least 500 ml of water or juice in the hours leading up to the donation. Eating well, while avoiding fatty foods, is also recommended.
For ease of sampling, donors should wear loose-fitting clothing with sleeves that can be raised above the elbow.
