Houndé, September 22, 2024 – The regional Houndé of the Youth Assemblies of God (JAD) recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of dedication to the church and community.
The celebration, held from September 18 to 21, 2024, brought together young people from the region under the theme “Let our talents bear fruit.” The event was a time for edification, promotion, and reflection on the organization’s achievements over the years.
Achievements and Impact
According to Sylvain Kiendrébéogo, general secretary of the Houndé regional JAD, the organization has made significant contributions to the community, including evangelism, church building, and social work. The JAD has also provided support to widows, orphans, and those in need.
Celebratory Activities
The commemorative activities began with a Bible camp, which engaged over 400 young people. The closing ceremony, held on September 21, 2024, at the central church of the Assemblies of God in Houndé, was attended by over 1,000 people, including the first officers of the regional AD council, the national JAD, and administrative authorities.
Messages of Encouragement
Pasteur Étienne Konkobo, president of the national JAD, congratulated the predecessors who played a crucial role in the organization’s establishment and growth. He also encouraged the youth to cultivate humility and respect for spiritual fathers.
Dr Michel Ouédraogo, deputy coordinator of center n°1, expressed his satisfaction with the movement of young people and encouraged them to persevere, unite, and rely on the Lord to continue the work of their predecessors.
Acknowledgments and Appreciation
The high commissioner of Tuy province, Issiaka Segda, congratulated JAD Houndé on its 40 years of service and encouraged the youth to continue their good work. He also acknowledged the importance of the youth in the country’s development and the authorities’ reliance on them for various activities.
