Brabant Connection Emerges in hague Explosions Investigation
Four men arrested in connection with the devastating explosions in The Hague last month all have ties to the Brabant region of the Netherlands, according to reports.
While it was previously known that two suspects hailed from Roosendaal and one from oosterhout, new information reveals that the 33-year-old Rotterdam man also arrested in the case has Brabant roots.Born in Afghanistan,Moshtag B. grew up in Roosendaal, according to reports. He was apprehended at his Rotterdam residence last Monday and is believed to have attempted to sell a white Range Rover, later found burned at the explosion site, just four weeks prior to the incident.
B. recently completed an optician training program and also operates a business in Roosendaal, the same town where two other suspects reside.
Suspicious Activity in Oosterhout Raises Concerns
Adding another layer to the investigation, authorities are examining a potential link between the suspects and a suspicious incident in Oosterhout a week before the Hague explosions.
Two men, believed to be the same Roosendaal residents now in custody, were apprehended in the early hours of December 1st. They were found inside a van parked on a shopping center lot, surrounded by fourteen jerrycans containing an unknown substance, fireworks, torches, a fire extinguisher, and extra clothing.police officers discovered the van with its lights on and engine running around 2:15 a.m.The two occupants were detained on suspicion of preparing a crime. They were held and questioned before being released. The van and its contents remain in police custody.
Authorities in both The Hague and West-Brabant have declined to comment on a possible connection between the oosterhout incident and the Hague explosions. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has not yet issued a statement.
