France Télévisions has secured a sublicensing ⁢agreement with TF1,⁢ a commercial network, to broadcast the UEFA Women’s Euro tournament and the Women’s Rugby World ‌Cup. This agreement significantly boosts France Télévisions’ commitment to women’s ⁢sports coverage.

As‍ part ⁣of the deal for the Women’s Euro, France Télévisions will broadcast 12 matches, including France’s⁤ game against Wales on July 9.The broadcaster will also air ‌two quarter-finals and a semi-final from the tournament,⁤ which ⁢is⁤ scheduled to take place in Switzerland from July ‍2-27.

Regarding the Women’s‌ Rugby World Cup, France Télévisions ⁤will broadcast 12 matches, including the opening match between the United States and England on August 22, as well as France’s matches against Brazil (August ‍31)‌ and South Africa (September 7). The 2025 ⁤Women’s ‍Rugby World Cup will be held in England from ⁢August 22⁣ to September 27.

TF1 maintains the ⁢rights to broadcast two quarter-finals (including any ⁢featuring the French team), the semi-final⁤ featuring the national team ⁣if ⁢they advance,‌ and the final⁣ on September 27. This arrangement⁤ mirrors TF1’s strategy from the 2023 men’s edition ⁢held ⁣in France, where they sublicensed ⁤games to both France Télévisions and M6.

What’s next

With‍ these⁢ acquisitions,France Télévisions expands its portfolio of women’s sports, complementing existing coverage such as the Women’s ‍tour de‌ France. ⁤This move underscores the growing importance‍ of women’s sports and the increasing demand for broadcast coverage.
