- Alexander Albon's car was so badly damaged that he could not take part in the race.
- "They did a great job getting the car back on track and I messed up again," Colapinto told the official F1 website.

Williams had a miserable day at Interlagos. The team suffered what team leader James Bowles described as “three very large accidents in just a few hours”.
Both riders crashed in qualifying. Alexander Albon’s car was so badly damaged that he could not take part in the race. Franco Colapinto started, but during the safety car he had another violent accident. After the race he said: “Very disappointing for the team.”
“They did a great job getting the car back on track and I messed up again,” Colapinto told the official F1 website.
“So I really feel sorry for them.”
“To be honest, today was a very difficult day for us. The car was fast and we went into the pits to put intermediate tires on, but there were a lot of rivers.
“I kept pushing to get the tires up to temperature and lost control of the car in a big river. It wasn’t a good day for us.”

Bowles said Williams suffered from a lack of spare parts at the start of the season, but the damage in Brazil meant they were in trouble again with the final three races of the season coming in three weeks.
“We had three incredibly serious accidents in just a few hours. We have a tremendous amount of work to do to get the parts situation back on track before we go to Las Vegas in a few weeks,” Bowles said.
“The nature of F1 is that while you get incredible thrills and results, you also experience some of the lowest moments of the sport, and this weekend is the second of those two.
To add insult to injury, Williams lost a huge lead to rival Alpine on Sunday. Heading into Brazil they had a three-point lead, but Alpine picked up an unexpected 35 points at Interlagos and moved up to sixth in the table.
“Our rival Alpine was faster in the race, there’s no doubt about that,” Bowles said.
“They deserved that position, but they picked up a lot of points and are back at the top of the championship, taking us back to ninth place.”
“But I will never give up until the time comes to give up. That is, until we get to Abu Dhabi and the checkered flag waves.”
